Nuclear receptor structural and molecular pharmacology

How small molecules (endogenous lipids, synthetic ligands, and FDA-approved drugs) change the activity of these therapeutically important transcription factors.

Nuclear receptors connect small-molecule signals to gene expression. We study how natural ligands, synthetic compounds, and medicines interact with these proteins and influence their activity.

Our work combines structural biology with biochemical, biophysical, and cellular approaches. By connecting molecular interactions to transcriptional responses, we seek to understand why compounds acting on the same receptor can produce different functional outcomes.
